On the initial day of the tournament, each team captain must check their team in on this event page by logging into their It's Gosu account and clicking “check in.” Failure to do so will result in a team not being listed on the tournament's bracket. Additionally, it is recommended that they send a brief “check-in” message to a tournament admin within the itsgosu chat channel.

Sunday:

Chat Channel and Communication

In-game Steam Chat Channel: itsgosu

All team captains and team members must join chat channel “itsgosu” during tournament play. It is through this channel that team captains will be able to contact each other to facilitate the playing of their matches. Admins will also be present in this chat channel to address any issues that may arise during play.

NOTE: This tournament is open to players and teams of all nationalities and backgrounds, and It's Gosu will do all we can to ensure that English-second-language players and little-or-no-English players are comfortable and can compete in a friendly environment. That said, English is to be considered the official language of this tournament, and though It's Gosu will make every effort to address any issues that may arise due to language barriers, we are under no inherent obligation to do so in the event that a team cannot understand the rules or respond to admin instructions. It is the ultimate responsibility of every team and player to ensure that they can communicate effectively with their opponents and with the admins of this tournament in English, or to make arrangements for a translator or go-between beforehand.

POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

Check-In:

Saturday:

On the initial day of the tournament, each team captain must check their team in on this event page by logging into their It's Gosu account and clicking “check in.” Failure to do so will result in a team not being listed on the tournament's bracket. Additionally, it is recommended that they send a brief “check-in” message to a tournament admin within the itsgosu chat channel.

Sunday:
On Sunday, remaining teams will no longer have to “check-in” via the It's Gosu event listing. They will, however, have to check-in during the listed time by messaging an administrator in the itsgosu chat channel.

Chat Channel and Communication

Chat Channel: itsgosu

Game Rules:

All tournament games must be played in private, pass-worded lobbies. Either team in a given match-up may create the lobby, but all created lobbies must use the following preferences:

Game Mode: Captains Mode
Server Location: US East
Bots: No
Cheats: No
Allow Spectators: No
Game Version: Latest
Lobby Password:
Must be no longer than 10 characters, and shared with opponents/casters

Once tournament play begins, it is the responsibility of team captains to facilitate play and their matches, and to contact teams whom they must play and create custom lobbies as needed. The event page on It's Gosu will will list all teams and the SteamID of each team's captain, so that captains may easier communicate to set up matches.

Once play begins, all players and teams are expected to proceed with play in as timely and organized a fashion as possible. No team or player may delay the start of their match by more than 15 minutes once a bracket match-up is established and captains have contacted each other. In the event that an opposing team does not respond or join a lobby for play within 15 minutes, captains must contact an admin who will then attempt to rectify the matter. If at this a time a team is still unable or unwilling to play, they will forfeit their match.

In a Best of 3 series, teams are permitted a maximum 5 minute break between games. In the event that an opposing team exceeds this time limit, a captain may contact an admin. The accused team will then by contacted by an admin and given an additional 5 minutes to prepare for the next game, or they will forfeit the round.

NOTE: On the final day of competition, all game lobbies will be created by It's Gosu staff members.

Format:

Day 1:
Round of 128 - Best of 1
Round of 62 - Best of 1
Round of 32 - Best of 1
Round of 16 - Best of 1

Day 2:
Round of 8 - Best of 3
Round of 4 - Best of 3

NOTE: The Round of 4 will be last round played, as the top two spots both qualify for the Monthly Madness Invitational, making a championship game unnecessary.

Reporting a Win:

It is the responsibility of the team captain on a winning team to report the results to a Bracket Admin.

In addition to reporting the win, i
t is also the responsibility of a winning team captain to screen shot the victory screen (done via the Steam screen shot function, or by pressing the “print screen” or “prt sc” button on your keyboard and then pasting to Paint) immediately following a win in the case of a dispute where both teams report a win.

In the event that both team captains report a win and neither can produce a screen shot of the victory screen, the match will be replayed. In the event that a screen shot is used to prove that a losing team knowingly lied by attempting to report a win, that team and all of its players will be permanently banned from all future It's Gosu events.

Code of Conduct:

While It's Gosu recognizes that the highly competitive nature of Dota 2 means volatile emotions and outbursts are a given, we also recognize that the foremost goal of any eSports organization must be creating a fun, fair, and comfortable environment for all of its members and competitors.

To that end, the following is forbidden during tournament play, and may result in varying degrees of punishment:

- Racial slurs and derogatory comments regarding the race of competitors
- Any comments in reference to sexual orientation
- Any derogatory comments regarding the nationality of competitors

- Any derogatory comments regarding a competitor's ability to communicate in English
- In-game flaming of an opposing team
- Out-of-game flaming of an opposing team in Steam chat

All instances of the above are to be reported to an admin immediately.

A first offense will be met with a warning from an admin.

A second offense will result in disqualification of the player, who can be replaced by a team's listed substitute and no one else.

If a team which has already had a player disqualified commits another infraction, they will be immediately disqualified. If that team then decides to remain in the chat channel and continue flaming, it and all of its players will be banned from all future It's Gosu events.

Casting:

This tournament will be broadcast with a non-specified delay on the It's Gosu official Dota 2 stream:
http://www.twitch.tv/itsgosu_dota2

Selected matches will be selected for broadcast by the It's Gosu Dota2 casting crew. Admins and/or casters will communicate with players to determine which matches will be casted. In the event that a team's match is selected for casting, the team captain making the lobby must provide the lobby password to the casters, and refrain from starting the match until they are sure the casters are ready.

Casters:
GoSu.Ayesee
Draskyl (Day 1)
Gosu.BuLba (Day 2)
